Overview
The Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment, provides an entry point to understanding vocational assessment. Most training centres would expect that you have this qualification at the very least before you start assessing in the FE and HE sectors. You are not required to have any prior qualification or experience to start this course, just a passion to teach or train. This course will assist you regardless of your subject expertise, whether you teach music or coach people.

Description
Duration and Delivery
This course is designed to be completed online at the pace that suits you the best. It can take as little as 10 days or up to 8 weeks depending on how much work you put into it and how familiar you are with the area of study. This qualification is delivered virtually, through our Virtual Learning Environment.
Assessment & Verification
All units within this course are internally analysed by our internal assessors and externally verified by the awarding organisation. The assessment takes the form of written assignments and demonstration of assessment skills through video recording, detailed guidance for which will be provided by the tutor.
Progression
Successful completion of this qualification enables learners to proceed to the Level 4 Certificate in Leading the IQA of Assessment Processes and Practice and the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training.
Mandatory units:
Unit 1: Understanding the principles and practices of assessment
Unit 2: Assess occupational competence in the work environment

This course is for those who are starting, or aiming to start, a career in assessment and training.
Requirements
Learners must be 19 or over.
